2020 my photography recap

Updated: Jan 11, 2021

This blog post is dedicated to my photography activities throughout 2020. I’m currently fully enrolled in an university program in Germany and consider myself at this stage more as a “hobby” photographer. Many of these photos are from my daily life and just happened to be spontaneous shots rather than set up photo shoots.

So let’s jump back right to the beginning of 2020.

In February I had a test photoshoot at the Europa Park. Focusing on one of their newly opened hotel KRØNASÅR – THE MUSEUM-HOTEL“. Due to limited time afterwards we were not able to extend this cooperation.

In March I visited Munich for a short trip. Just the week before the lockdown started. The amount of tourists was already very limited which provided me with the unique opportunity to take photos in an almost empty Pinakothek and Schloss Nymphenburg.

The next noteworthy event was when I joined Flitzmo. A student project at Offenburg university. In July and August I took portraits and team photos, followed by product photos in the greenscreen studio at our campus in Offenburg. Additional photography for Flitzmo included an event with one of our industry partners and work behind the scenes in our labor.

In July I joined the Institute for Trade and Innovation. In terms of photography I shot destination photos in and around Gengenbach which we used for the IfTI Global Symposium in September. On the one hand we displayed the photos on the event website and flyer. The biggest excitement was to see my photos being printed at the size of A0 and put directly in the cloister in Gengenbach. Next to the destination photos I took some photos at the event itself and some BTS shoots.

In the early stages of September I was in Hamburg for a short trip. I managed to get some nice shots from the world famous Elbphilharmonie.

In October probably one of the most exciting things happened. I started collaborating together with the official Tourism center of Gengenbach. Gengenbach Tourism started purchasing photos which I took in and around Gengenbach to use them for Marketing purposes. The biggest surprise was, when the city Gengenbach used one of my photos from next with the mayor's last words for 2020 on their website. Super cool and totally unexpected.

Through my photography for the Institute for Trade and Innovation and the cooperation with Gengenbach Tourism I managed to get enough photos to create my first Gengenbach calendar. A christmas present this year for family and friends.

It is also very exciting for me to see that following hotels are still using some of my photos for their Marketing purposes.
